Our fees and costs:
Insurise Financial Services Limited is generally remunerated by the providers of the products we recommend; however, there are some instances where we may charge a fee for a particular service.
Formulating and implementing an insurance plan can take considerable time and Insurise reserves the right to charge a one-off Advice Fee to compensate for this time. Generally, the commission paid by the providers is sufficient to cover this charge; however, where you do not proceed with recommendations, we may charge you directly. You will be invoiced for the fee, and this will be payable within 7 days of the invoice date.
When reviewing existing insurances for new clients, Insurise Financial Services Limited may charge a fee. This fee will be calculated on the following basis: a base advice fee of between $600 – $3,000 (including GST), then $300 (including GST) per hour after the first 10 hours. This fee will be agreed with the client when determining the Scope of the advice. The fee will be payable after the Statement of Advice has been provided to the client, by the client by the 20th of the month.
Our commissions:
We receive commission from the insurance companies on whose policies we give advice. If you decide to take out insurance, the insurer will pay a commission to Insurise Financial Services Limited. The amount of the commission is based on the amount of the premium.
- Risk and Health Insurance – Upfront, with range between 30% to 230% of the first year’s premium.
- Risk and Health Insurance – Trail, with range between 5% – 20% following year.
- International Student and Visiting NZ Travel Insurance – 13% – 14% of total premium.
Break Fee:
If you cancel the insurance policy within two years, the product provider may charge us a fee, and we may on-charge the costs to you. As a professional financial adviser, my hourly rate for assessing your needs, preparing suitable recommendations and implementing your selected solutions is $300 per hour. Normally, if you choose to implement the solutions recommended, this cost is covered by a commission the providers pay to me at the percentages noted elsewhere in this document. There are conditions on that commission amount, however, that require the policy to be in place for a requisite period and in the event it is cancelled earlier, I will be required to relinquish some of that commission which may mean there is an outstanding cost for my hourly fee $300 multiplied by the hours of work invested that I would then need to pass on to you. As the criteria may be different for each provider. I am committed to ensuring my solutions are linked to your stated goals and objectives so there should be little chance of you not finding value in retaining any solution put in place as agreed between us.
From time to time, product providers may also reward us for the overall business we provide to them. They may give us tickets to sports events, hampers, or other incentives.
To ensure our financial advisers prioritise clients’ interests above their own, we follow an advice process that ensures our recommendations are made on the basis of each client’s goals and circumstances. All our financial advisers undergo annual training about how to manage conflicts of interest. We maintain registers of conflicts of interests, and the gifts and incentives we receive. Insurise Financial Services Limited monitors these registers and provides additional training where necessary.
Insurise Financial Services Limited undertakes an annual review of our compliance programme by a reputable compliance provider.
